Thinking in Terms of Abundance, Not Scarcity

In looking at ways to create financial independence, saving money is always at or near the top of the conversation, and rightly so. 9273306688_d0995fc3ae_zNo financial plan can be on a great trajectory without living within your means, we all know that.

I’d like to take a minute to dig a bit deeper though.  I feel that there has to be a healthy balance to all things in life, and a financial plan is no different.  None of us is going to live forever, and we do need to maximize the happiness of our time here.  Thus, I think its important to think about life in terms of abundance.  Abundance of opportunity.  Abundance of energy. Abundance of love.

So while we’re looking to cut expenses, stresses, and unnecessary “things”, lets remember what cutting them out means.  It means that we’re clearing out low-energy, unnecessary things, but not limiting ourselves.  It means that we’re left to pursue a life of abundance.  Abundance of the good things (or things you value the most).

I’ve recently be re-reading Dr. Wayne Dyer’s great book , The Power of Intention: Learning to Co-create Your World Your Way
Dr. Dyer has a chapter about this topic.  I have a few of his quotes I’d like to share:

“Your intention to feel successful and experience prosperity and abundance depends on what view you have of yourself, the universe, and most important, the field of intention from which success and abundance will come.”

What he’s saying is that the things we desire most are all around us.  We only need to be open to change and willing to accept it.

Another great quote here:

“As you practice allowing and living the faith of least resistance, success is no longer something you choose; its something you are.  Abundance no longer eludes you.  You are it, and it is you.”

This pattern of “abundance thinking” is what I’ve been trying to implement into my natural thought process.  It isn’t always easy, especially when I’m having a rough day.  But if we can adjust our mindset, I think we’ll find that all our goals are right there in front of us.

May you have a prosperous day!
